Xiao Chua : 2011 Outstanding Tarlaqueno for Journalism/Broadcasting

Ipinagmamalaki at binabati ng Philippine Historical Association si Prof. Michael Charleston B. Chua, PHA Vice President at kasapi ng kaguruan ng Departamento ng Kasaysayan ng De La Salle University Maynila, sa kanyang natanggap na pagkilala bilang 2011 OUTSTANDING TARLAQUENO  sa larangan ng pamamahayag, mula sa pamahalaang lokal ng Lungsod ng Tarlac, Tarlac sa pamumuno ni Mayor Gelacio Ace Manalang. 


Bilang historyador, si Prof. Chua ay madalas na nakakapanayam sa radyo at telebisyon upang magbigay-linaw sa mga usaping pangkasaysayan. Siya ay rin kasalukuyang isa sa mga regular na panelista sa programang "The Bottomline with Boy Abunda" ng ABS-CBN.

Gen. Ernesto Carolina, Adminsitrator of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) under the Department of National Defense (DND), Mrs. Teresita Cuevas, Head of its Veterans Memorial and Historical Division, and Dr. Evelyn Songco, President of the Philippine Historical Association (PHA) proudly present a second documentary in two episodes on the Philippine Veterans, so we can show them our appreciation and so the younger generation would not forget. "MAPALAD ANG INYONG MGA APO" is now being uploaded for the non-profit educational use of teachers, students and the general public and was produced in commemmoration of the ARAW NG KAGITINGAN on 9 April 2011. The film was dedicated to Dean Gloria Santos, executive director and the grand old dame of the Philippine Historical Association, and was first shown eleven days before she passed away. It also features her very last interview by Xiao Chua at the UST Educational Technology Center. Also interviewed for the first episode were Dr. Teofista Vivar, Dr. Evelyn Miranda (of PHA) and Josephine Nellie Jackson-Noriel of the Magsaysay Guerilla Forces (courtesy of Cynthia Sanchez, JCI Makati porincess Urduja).
